i was always impressed with Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking, but i was just as inspired by some really good teachers who made me realise that science is about the answer to fun questions, like why is the sky blue? etc

There wasn’t one particular person. David Attenborough’s TV programmes probably had a lot to do with it, though!

In terms of WHO, rather than WHAT (that comic book guide I’ve mentioned a few times now!!!) I’d say a researcher that my dad knew when he was the chairman of the Scottish Huntington’s Association. Huntington’s is an awful inheritable disease and Dr. Simpson worked with sufferes of Huntington’s and did an amazing job and through her I learned how they’d found the mutation that causes the disease and how people were working to try to find ways to fix it. I guess it was just great to see how science can help people so much.
