I liked maths and astronomy as well, but I could see that biology was most likely to benefit people

It wasn’t my favourite subject at school but I loved reading about it, and watching David Attenborough programmes and so on! Living things are just so interesting and diverse. Physicists look at only a few kinds of particles and forces, but biologists have millions of species to study!

I was really interested in finding out about what makes us ‘us’ – so working out how the body works, and even what makes us different from other animals.

it was just fascination with different forms of plants and animals and why they are different. Also I liked finding out how our bodies obtain energy, our organs work and how we reproduce. from a more practical aspect, I enjoy nature and think biodiversity is essential for healthy ecosystems and we really need to know more about it.
