Stones are made of minerals, each different stone is a different mixture of minerals. Some good examples are limestone which is mostly made of carbon carbonate and granite which is mostly silicon dioxide.

Well, there’s different types of stone, depending on how they form, but in general they’re formed from a mix of chemicals called minerals which are hard.

Depends on the kind of stone – some solidify from lava, some are squashed-up dried mud, and they contain a lot of different chemical compounds. Silicon dioxide is the most common.
