I fancied astronomy actually but 1) I was scared of the dark and 2) I always managed to miss importnat astronomical events. A very sad story about the total eclipse…..
I wasn’t sure, but something to do with science. The school careers adviser said I ought to be a chemical engineer (for the ££££!) so I chose my subjects with that in mind, but then decided it was boring and I preferred living things.
Around that time I think I wanted to be all sorts of things, a journalist, a business woman, an advertising exec (weird, I know)… I was really open to a lot of things, but I remember one in particular – a meteorologist, someone who studies and forecasts weather – mostly because I really loved those documentaries about storm chasers, seemed very exciting at the time.
