I hope so! But I don’t know. The rest of the solar system isn’t looking promising right now even though there does seem to be more water around than we thought. If there are planets elsewhere suitable for life, though, life might have started there too – it depends how improbable it is for life to get started.

There are also species from Earth that could probably survive for a while in space – bacteria on space probes might still be alive for example, if they’re protected from radiation.

So far no evidence has been found to prove that any species of life exist on any other planet other than Earth. There was that fossil of a bacteria from Mars, but I’m not massively convinced by it. There has been all sorts of evidence that there could be single-celled life, like bacteria on moons around jupiter and saturn, but again, nothing that proves it beyond doubt though.

The universe is so vast that there are so many stars, some of which could have planets, so in all probability there will probably be life somewhere out there, the question then is, would they be intelligent? Also, they’re probably so far away that we’ll never be able to make contact.

Here’s info on the guy who did the calculation to show that it must be the case that there’s life out there somewhere: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drake_equation

maybe there is very different life that we can’t even imagine that exists on other planets, but so far i don’t think any been found
