A lot of scientists would say yes, i would disagree. Science has probably had the most impact on our lives in recent times, so i would say it is very important. The most important subject at school depends on you, whats most important for your life, what is interesting to you and makes you excited or at least not completely bored! I would say from experience that maths and english are the most important and useful to grown ups, with science/history etc a close second.

If you want to do science you should probably be interested enough to do it at school. Maths is good obviously. But I was always very keen on Eng Lit and I think that helped a lot with writing, which is very important (also it was nice).

Definitely not! They’re all important. Depending on your interests and skills people contribute to society in different ways.

It depends what you want to do! If you want to be a scientist, science and maths are both very important. But in general, I don’t think any one subject is more important than the others.

Definitely not. All school subjects are very important, they help you move on in to all sorts of different careers – but obviously I’m biased, I definitely think that sciences are the most interesting! In terms of understanding the world we live in and the technology that surrounds you then science is important and gives you the skills you need to think about all sorts of things.
