• Question: How many times have your experiments exploded?

      Never yet, but im sure it’ll happen eventually, if i forget to pierce plastic tubes when i drop them in liquid nitrogen they will explode, but id have to be pretty absent minded

      none:-) oops – apart from the time I left a mercury thermometer in an oven and it exploded. I wasn’t popular. Our lab did nearly go up when there was a hole in the bunsen burner tubing and a colleague burnt herself badly. It was nearly bad, don’t want to think about it too much!

      Never, none of my research uses explosive chemicals. The closest I come is using chemicals that are toxic.
