Question: How long would your project take to finish?

  it will probably take 5-10 years to develop a barley variety that farmers would be interested in growing as there are many tests that have to be carried out. specially if you are interested in less lignin but the plants that have less lignin may be susceptible by disease because the same genes are also involved in disease resistance so we have to find a way to alter their lignin content without making them sick. My own personal role in this may only be for another 14 months as that is how long my contract is.
