Biology is changing, nowadays biology is alot about data. In my case the measurement of RNA concentrations. Modern technology allows us to measure all the different (tens of thousands) of different types of RNA in the cells. This can potentially tell us many interesting things about which genes are used and when for what biological purposes. But to find this out from the data you need to do dig these patterns out of the data (theres too much data to do this by eye). To find these patterns we therefore need to use computer science, statistics and mathematics.

I hope this makes sense 🙂
