• Question: Have you been to other countries to research any of your theories, and if yes, does the culture/religion change your mind?

      I’ve never done any work abroad unfortunately 🙁 There’s loads of opportunity to do so, but our lab has almost everytihng we need, and my supervisor likes collaborating, so rather than sending one of us over to learn, he just asks the people in that lab to do the experiments instead.

      I’ve done research in Canada and Zimbabwe, but i guess in plant science there are not so many cultural or religious influences.

      I have only been to other countries to attend conferences, this is where scientists present their work to other scientists. I have not researched in other countries. I can’t see how culture/religion would affect theories though. As scientists we base theories only on observations or logical deductions and test them using experiments. I don’t see how belief systems come into that.

      I worked in the Southern US for three years if that counts! I enjoyed learning about the culture but it didn’t change my mind about anything scientific.

      I cant do stem cells in some countries. I’ve mainly been to exchange ideas with other scientists
