Hrmm… if I’m honest yeah – when I was a lot younger thought they were all incable of social interaction, stuffy, geeky and wore tweed and sandals with socks… yuck! But then as time went on I realised that I was interested in science and I am none of those things… I mean, who the hell would wear socks with sandals?? No offence if you do… but it’s not a good look 😉 But then obviously I did my degree and met my lecturers who are all scientists and their students and so on and realised that we’re all people. Though admittedly SOME are rather stuffy and boring. But then some are a great laugh!

Like most people I admired scientists but thought they were crazy people who worked in basements or sheds and had no money. I was very pleasantly surprised to find scientists are no different to everyone else, they go to work together and get paid, and they’re job is challenging and fun.

In fact science is often done in big teams that work together, this makes it a lot more sociable than before!
