Oh dear, people are going to get bored of reading about this, but it was amazing:

When I was 14 my dad gave me the comic book guide to genetics as I was asking loads of questions about Huntington’s disease – something that unfortunately affected my dad’s side of the family. My dad’s a librarian though, so rather than being able to tell me how it all works, he found a book! And a great book it is! And that sparked it all really.
