• Question: when strawberries are exposed to radiation do you think it is dangerous for our health.

      No, the radiation just kills anything on the strawberries and doesn’t make them radioactive. Irradiation makes it easier to transport strawberries long distances without them going mouldy.

      My biggest worry about this is that intensively farmed strawberries air-freighted round the world to your supermarket shelf are much less environmentally friendly than locally grown strawberries. And taste like cotton wool.

      Only if it mutates something in the strawberry into something dangerous. But it’s not at all likely.

      It depends entirely on the level of radiation they then give off. People are safely given radiation by x-ray machines everyday, i’ve personally had at least 50 x-ray scans to no ill effect. If its sold in the shops then its safe to eat.
